1.

a) By the voltage divider RuleV1 = (Vs·R1)/(R1+R2) = (7V·2K)/(7K) =  2V

b) By KVL: V2 = Vs - V1 = 7V - 2V = 5V

2.

a) By Ohm's Law: V2 = I·R2 = 10mA · 0.3KOhms = 3V

b) By KVL: Vs = V1 + V2 = 2V + 3V = 5V

3.

a) By KVL: V3 = Vs - (V1 + V2) = 10V - (5V + 1V) = 4V

b) First find the current I = 10V/8K = 1.25mA, then: R1 = V1/I = 5V/1.25mA = 4KOhms

c) Using the value of I from part b: R2 = V2/I = 1V/1.25mA = 0.80KOhms (2 decimal digits after point)

d) Again using I form part b: R3 = V3/I = 4V/1.25mA = 3.20KOhms  (2 decimal digits after point)

4.

a) By Ohm's Law: V1 = I· R1 = 2mA · 2KOhms = 4V

b) V2 = I· R2 = 2mA · 3KOhms = 6V

c) V3 = I· R3 = 2mA · 1KOhm = 2V

d) By KVL : Vs = V1 + V2 + V3 = 4V + 6V + 2V = 12V
