DC Power Test2

Submitting your Answers:  If the result is a decimal number use two decimal places after the decimal

point, i.e. : 0.01 or 3.12 and include the zero before the decimal point if there is one.

If the result is in thousands please include the comma "," such as in 10,000.

If the result is a whole number just include the whole number, i.e. 5 or 32 or 540 or 3,400 with no decimal.

Don't add in any blank spaces before or after the answer or it will be read incorrectly!

        All the problems refer to the circuit on the left,

        where the switch S is closed at time t = 0.

        The direction of current flow is in the standard

        way, opposite to electron flow.

Problem 1:

The power on the above circuit is 1W.  The battery voltage reads 3V.  What is the current flowing

through the circuit?

 I = A

Problem 2:

A current meter measures I = 0.2A for the circuit shown.  If the power dissipated by the resistor is 0.15W

what is the voltage delivered by the power supply (battery)?

V =volts

Problem 3:

For a 5KOhm resistor the voltage measured across it is V = 2V.  Calculate the power dissipated by the

resistor and the current going through it.

P =mW;  I =mA

Problem 4:

A current of 10mA is delivered to a circuit with  a 200 Ohm resistor.  Find the power delivered and the

voltage across the resistor.

P =mW;  V =volts
